Rwanda has some of the world’s most celebrated coffee — vibrant citrus acidity, crisp floral notes, rich chocolate undertones. But for decades, the women doing the hardest work in the supply chain received the least reward.
Middlemen took margins. Quality suffered in transit. The story of Rwandan coffee never fully reached the people drinking it.

Izere Coffee was founded as a direct-trade cooperative network — cutting out the middlemen, applying post-harvest food science at every stage, and routing elevated premiums directly into the hands of women processors.
The result? Consistently high-scoring lots. A supply chain built on trust. And a name that finally means what it says.
