- Izere Coffee is a direct-trade bridge between Rwanda’s specialty coffee landscape and the North American market. We source 100% Red Bourbon Arabica from cooperative networks on Rwanda’s volcanic highlands, apply rigorous post-harvest food science, and route elevated premiums directly to the women who process it.
Izere means Hope in Kinyarwanda. It’s not a marketing label — it’s a word Rwandan mothers whisper to their children and farmers carry into the fields. It’s the standard we hold every lot to.
- Two profiles, both 100% Red Bourbon Arabica grown at 1,800–2,100 MASL: a Fully Washed, Double Fermentation lot (86–88+ cupping score, crisp citrus and honey sweetness) and an Experimental Natural, Extended Anaerobic lot (87–89+ cupping score, dark chocolate and ripe tropical fruit). Full specs are on our Products page.
- Every lot is processed under strict biochemical control and consistently scores 85–89+ on the specialty scale.

- Yes. Every shipment is digitally traceable from farm block to port of entry, so you always know exactly what you’re buying and where it came from.
- We cut out middlemen entirely. Elevated premiums go straight to our processors — mostly women — instead of being absorbed by intermediaries along the way.
- Rwandan women do the hardest, most skilled work in our supply chain — cherry picking, drying table sorting, quality control — yet have historically received the least reward. Our model was built to change that, routing income and training directly to them. mollis ac augue sed varius.
